Freezer Order Picker

About the role

The Freezer Order Picker is responsible for packing, pulling, replenishing, and taking the inventory of all frozen material allocated to our freezer. They operate hand and power equipment for material handling to accommodate storage of products within the freezer, including a rider reach, forklifts, power pallet jacks and scan gun system. The Freezer Order Picker ensures product is properly rotated, maintains a clean and organized department. They guarantee the accuracy of inventory and picked orders before they are shipped out and assist with the monthly inventory count.

Responsibilities

• Operate hand and power equipment for material handling to accommodate storage of products within the freezer, including a rider reach, forklifts, power pallet jacks and scan gun system
• Ensure product is properly rotated, maintaining a clean and organized department
• Guarantee the accuracy of inventory and picked orders before they are shipped out
• Absorb and execute the schedule of releases
• Pick and pack orders as dictated by the schedule of releases
• Organize, rotate, maintain and verify existing inventory
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment
• Operate warehouse operating system and handheld scan guns
• Safely operate manual or ride-on pallet jacks and forklifts
• Safely operate reach truck operator to obtain product and replenish product when necessary
• Communicate to department leadership if product is damaged, inventory is low, count is off, etc.

Requirements

• Experience operating ride-on pallet jacks & forklifts
• Experience operation a rider reach
• Experience in a warehouse environment
• Experience working with racking systems, maximizing storage space
• Must be able to work a full day in below freezing temperature
• Detail oriented
• Ability to read labels and associated document

Additional Requirements

• Must be able to lift 30-50 pounds
• Work up to a 10-hour workday: standing/walking most of the day
• Hand use: single grasping, fine manipulation, pushing and pulling
• Work requires the following motions: bending, twisting, squatting and reaching
• Exposure to FDA approved cleaning chemicals
• Exposure to temperatures:
• Exposure to wet and dry conditions
• Exposure to Monday-Friday, weekends when needed
• Exposure to use of tools and equipment, including knives
