About the Role
Under supervision, performs and inspects preventive maintenance and repair of equipment and machinery. This position requires the ability to constantly learn new skills for maintaining and repairing robotic equipment in an ever-changing field of expertise. Must possess the ability to apply pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical principles to all equipment in a cold storage warehouse environment.
Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with Food Safety and Quality Programs and Processes.
- Complete all job duties in accordance with applicable Safety Procedures/Policies, Work Documents such as Standard Operating Procedures, Standard Works, Talking Points, Best Practices, and verbal instructions from Freezer leadership.
- Robotics: With assistance as needed, troubleshoot, replace, disassemble, repair, perform scheduled and unscheduled preventive and predictive maintenance, and overhaul all equipment associated with the Kuka Robots, including Trunk Lines, all pallet conveyors, product conveyors, Spirals, and Sealers/Wrappers. Assist Process Controls with modifications and creation of PAL files.
- Troubleshoot, replace, disassemble, repair, perform scheduled and unscheduled preventive and predictive maintenance, and overhaul all equipment, including diagnosing mechanical and electrical circuitry malfunctions using visual and auditory senses, test systems, and technical publications for the area of responsibility.
- Dock and Load-out areas: Troubleshoot, replace, disassemble, repair, perform scheduled and unscheduled preventive and predictive maintenance, and overhaul all equipment associated with the Dock and Load-out areas, including all Dock Locks, Dock Plates, overhead doors, Racking System, walk-through doors, and Dock Levelers. Perform welding tasks as needed throughout the entire area of responsibility.
- Sprinkler System: Troubleshoot, replace, disassemble, repair, perform scheduled and unscheduled preventive and predictive maintenance, and overhaul all equipment associated with the Sprinkler System, including sprinkler heads, all piping, and valves.
- Coordinate with supply, production, and other engineering personnel to improve procedures and resolve problems. Coordinate maintenance plans to meet operational commitments. Review maintenance data collection summaries to determine trends and production effectiveness.
- Actively participate in learning continuous improvement basics and recommend improvements as identified.
- With assistance as needed, be responsible for the replacement and setup of High Frequency Drives on all Robotic, Crane, Intec, and Palletizer systems, including troubleshooting and repair of High Frequency Drives.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent GED; journeyman's license or 2-year degree preferred.
- Previous mechanical experience is essential; previous electrical and maintenance experience is preferred.
- Emerging understanding of concepts and applications of mechanics.
- Must pass the written assessment of Electric Tech 1.
Skills
- Ability to read, write, and solve math problems.
- Capability to generate and process work on a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).
- Adequate computer skills and manual dexterity.
- Basic ability with small hand tools.
- Ability to follow written and oral instructions.
- Ability to interpret blueprints, schematics, and mechanical drawings including P&ID drawings.
- Ability to work independently and have good communication skills.
- Participation in further education and certifications as deemed appropriate for this Tech Level.
