About the Role

The Dairy & Freezer Clerk is responsible for maintaining the dairy and freezer sections by ensuring proper stocking, rotation, and product integrity. This role supports merchandising, inventory management, and compliance with food safety standards while delivering excellent service to Members. The clerk helps keep the department organized and efficient, contributing to the overall success of the perishables team.

Responsibilities

• Ensure planogram integrity in dairy and freezer by stocking products according to company planograms.
• Maintain cold chain and in‑stock accuracy; monitor temperature control and replenish low or missing items.
• Execute proper product rotation using FIFO (First In, First Out) procedures.
• Conduct quality and date checks; remove damaged or expired items to uphold food safety standards.
• Follow all food safety and sanitation standards, including routine cleaning of coolers, freezers, equipment, and shelving.
• Support product availability by monitoring in‑stock levels and assisting with replenishment.
• Verify accurate signage and pricing for all items.
• Assist with seasonal merchandising initiatives and transitions.
• Comply with all company policies and procedures to ensure operational excellence.
• Perform other duties as assigned and provide additional support across departments as needed.
• Maintain regular, predictable, full attendance to support operations and provide leadership coverage.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of experience in dairy, freezer, grocery, or retail operations preferred.
• Basic knowledge of cold chain management, food safety standards, and product handling requirements.
• Strong attention to detail with organizational and multitasking skills.
• Proficiency in basic computer applications (MS Word, Excel, Email) preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.

Job Conditions

• Frequent standing and movement on hard surfaces.
• Regular lifting of up to 30 pounds; occasional heavier lifting with assistance.
• Exposure to temperature variations in refrigerated and freezer storage areas.
• Potential exposure to cleaning agents and frozen/dairy‑related allergens.

Pay

The estimated compensation range for this position is $18.50 – $22.67 per hour. Actual salaries will vary based on location, education, experience, and other non‑discriminatory factors.
