Freestanding ER Tech II

Job Summary

Under the direction and supervision of the ED RN, the ED Tech II administers care consistent with standard of care to include:

• Administering medications in accordance to the Paramedic scope of practice;
• Providing personal hygiene assistance or total care;
• Assisting with ADLs and transporting patients to various destinations throughout facility for tests and treatments and for admission;
• Proactively managing room turnover and cleaning rooms between ED patients;
• Assisting with waiting room flow management, monitoring of vital signs, initiating IV sites, performing phlebotomy and collecting specimens;
• Performing EKGs within acceptable emergent timeframes according to established guidelines and observing cardiac monitors and reporting any abnormalities or unusual rhythms to the RN or physician immediately.

Qualifications

• ACLS & BCLS within 30 days of employment start;
• Graduate of a Paramedic program required;
• Active Paramedic Certification - National Registry or SC state certification.
