About the role

Serving as the heart of the newsroom, Producers at Spectrum News drive local news coverage and determine the most important stories.

Responsibilities

• Lead the charge on driving local news coverage
• Determine the most important stories of the day
• Collaborate with colleagues to tell the news that matters in your community and around the country
• Make decisions about what to air and when
• Keep our audience informed

Requirements

• Experience: 2+ years in television news
• Education: Bachelor's Degree or equivalent professional experience
• Technical Skills: Knowledge of social media platforms and basic editing skills (Adobe Premiere and Final Cut Pro)
• Skills: Go-getter personality, excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills
• Travel Ability: Open to travel to discover important stories in your neighborhood and willing to interact with the community
• Schedule: Ability to work different shifts and be flexible with schedule changes

Qualifications

• Working knowledge of general office computer software, newsroom software, and basic non-linear editing systems
• May be required to lift up to five pounds
