Freelance Group Copy Supervisor

Description GSW is seeking a Freelance Group Copy Supervisor with strong healthcare advertising experience to lead the development of compelling, strategically driven campaigns for pharmaceutical and biotech brands. This senior-level role combines creative leadership, client partnership, and hands-on copy development. You'll collaborate with Creative, Medical, Strategy, and Account teams to create impactful work that is both scientifically accurate and creatively inspiring. This role will support our Santa Monica office. Must be willing to work PST hours.Must submit portfolio that demonstrates strong concepting. Responsibilities: Lead copy development across multiple brands, campaigns, and promotional initiativesProvide creative leadership and mentorship to copywriters and cross-functional teamsPartner with art leadership to develop integrated, concept-driven campaignsPresent and sell creative ideas to clients and internal stakeholdersServe as a trusted client partner and strategic advisorEnsure work aligns with brand strategy, regulatory standards, and scientific accuracyContribute to strategic planning, market insights, and new business opportunitiesManage creative quality, workflow, and team resources across assigned accountsStay current on healthcare, marketing, and cultural trends to drive innovative thinking Qualifications: 7+ years of pharma advertising agency experience4+ years of pharmaceutical/healthcare copywriting and copy supervision experienceProven experience leading and mentoring writers in an agency environmentExceptional concepting, storytelling, and copywriting skillsStrong understanding of pharmaceutical regulations, terminology, and promotional communicationsExcellent presentation, communication, and client-facing skillsAbility to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environmentCollaborative, positive leader with curiosity, adaptability, and a strong creative point of view Preferred Traits: Strategic thinker with a passion for healthcare communicationsStrong relationship builder with clients and internal teamsSkilled at translating complex science into clear, engaging, and motivating contentNaturally curious about emerging trends, technologies, and creative approaches The anticipated hourly rate for this position is $90 but may vary based on various factors such as the candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and proficiency for the role.
