About the role
SVG is a destination for gamers who want to stay informed about the latest developments, releases, and conversations shaping the gaming world. We are hiring writers who are passionate about Grand Theft Auto and actively follow the franchise to contribute gaming content focused on the highly anticipated release of Grand Theft Auto VI. Candidates should have extensive experience playing GTA titles and a strong understanding of the series, its history, and its community.
As excitement builds around GTA VI, writers can expect to cover the game before, during, and well beyond its release—from pre-launch news and updates to launch coverage, ongoing developments, and the conversations that follow—with opportunities to contribute beyond the GTA beat as our coverage evolves. We’re seeking knowledgeable, self-motivated writers who can produce accurate, engaging content independently in a fast-paced publishing environment.
Experience recording gameplay footage or creating gaming videos for YouTube is preferred, as some articles may be adapted into video content featuring gameplay clips. On-camera experience or comfort appearing in video content is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Claim and complete articles from a list of available assignments
- Write accurate, engaging gaming content based on current news, trends, and reader interest
- Follow our style guide, editorial strategy, and publishing standards to ensure high-quality content
- Stay up to date on GTA news, community discussions, and developments surrounding Grand Theft Auto VI
Requirements
- At least 1 year of editorial or professional writing experience
- Extensive familiarity with Grand Theft Auto games and the GTA community
- Experience covering gaming news, trends, releases, or related topics
- Strong research skills, grammar, and attention to detail
- Comfort working in a CMS
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced publishing environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience recording gameplay footage
- Experience creating gaming videos or content for YouTube
- On-camera experience and/or comfort presenting gaming content on video
- Familiarity with adapting written content into engaging video content
