FREELANCE CONTRACTOR
Become a Contractor
To become one of CETRA’s contractors, send us your resume and fill out the online form. Your credentials will be evaluated, and if found satisfactory, your information will be added to the CETRA database.
Getting Paid
To receive payment, you must provide an invoice that includes the Purchase Order number, the language used, the task performed, and the rate. Payments are made in US dollars. For North American translators, payments are made via company check. For those living overseas, payments are made via PayPal or wire transfer.
Paying on Time
CETRA pays all translators on a net 45 days basis, i.e., 45 calendar days following the date of your invoice, unless another arrangement is made in advance.
Database Verification
To verify your record in the CETRA database, email us. You can send inquiries after thirty days from submitting the online form.
Working on Projects
It is perfectly fine to ask questions when working on a particular project. CETRA prefers translators who regularly seek feedback on terminology and other unclear issues. However, translators should not compromise the quality of their work in hopes that the editor and proofreader will fix any problems.
Subcontracting
CETRA prohibits subcontracting assignments by contractors without prior consent. All material provided to contractors is the property of CETRA or its client and may not be reproduced, disclosed, or divulged.
Security Clearances
CETRA provides assistance with obtaining security clearances for some projects. The most common clearance is the Public Trust clearance, which can be obtained by US citizens or permanent residents. CETRA will provide all necessary forms, including a main questionnaire for preview.
Work Schedule
This is a Remote (work from home) position.
