About the role
The ASC Nurse Aide Training Program offers free Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) training to anyone committed to providing compassionate care to our residents. This program is designed for individuals without prior experience, offering comprehensive training that includes both classroom instruction and hands-on practice.
Responsibilities
- Assisting with bathing, dressing, and grooming tasks such as hair care, brushing teeth, and shaving.
- Helping residents at mealtimes, including transporting them to the dining room and assisting with eating and drinking.
- Repositioning and transferring residents from a bed to a wheelchair or from a wheelchair to the toilet.
- Obtaining resident vital signs, such as heart rate and blood pressure, and recording observations.
- Answering patient call lights and assisting in fulfilling requests.
- Building meaningful relationships with our residents, providing care and companionship.
Requirements
No previous experience is required. The program is open to anyone interested in becoming a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA).
Qualifications
There are no specific qualifications needed to apply for the CNA training program. Commitment to providing compassionate care is essential.
Skills
While no specific skills are required, a caring and compassionate nature, along with good communication and interpersonal skills, are highly valued in this role.

Schedule
The CNA training program lasts approximately 2 weeks, including 30 hours of classroom work and 45 hours of hands-on clinical training. Training sessions are conducted at ASC facilities across Indiana.
