About the role

The Nursing Assistant, CNA-Student provides supervised personal care and designated health-related services while enrolled in CNA training to become certified. Under the direction of professional nurses, you will follow individualized client care plans and all HIPAA guidelines. This non-hospital, community-based care role is guided by LPN/RNs.

Targeted pay for this position is $17.75 per hour as a CNA Student. Ecumen considers experience, qualifications, certifications, licenses, and education when determining new hire pay.

Schedule

Orientation: In-person on 9/14, 9/15, 9/21, 9/28, or 9/29 (pick one).

Remote Learning: At your own pace on the computer.

Required In-Person Commitments:

  • 10/10: 7:00am–3:30pm
  • 10/11: 7:00am–3:30pm
  • 10/15: 6:00am–2:30pm
  • 10/16: 6:00am–2:30pm
  • 10/17: 7:00am–3:30pm

Responsibilities

  • Assist with treatments and activities of daily living as delegated by the Clinical Director per individualized care plan, including but not limited to:
    • Dressing, grooming, bathing, eating, toileting, ambulation, transferring
    • AM and HS cares, including oral care as needed
    • Incontinence care
    • Assistive devices, glasses, and hearing aids
  • Provide physical care to residents according to established procedures and performance standards, including Activities of Daily Living (ADLs).
  • Monitor vital signs and provide Range of Motion exercises in a manner that encourages independence and dignity.
  • Assist with adaptive equipment.
  • Respond appropriately to all safety hazards, call lights, requests, and reassignment of duties.
  • Report changes in resident’s physical condition, behavior, and level of independent functioning to the nurse.
  • Assist with admissions and discharges.
  • Report pertinent information and concerns regarding residents, families, staff, visitors, and building operations to appropriate personnel.
  • Accurately complete required documentation.
  • Partner effectively with others in a demanding and changing environment, supporting all employees within the community as directed by the Clinical Director or Registered Nurse.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Successful completion of Certified Nursing Assistant program within four months of entering the position.
  • Minimum 18 years of age.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
