About the team

Operations is the backbone of Brex’s mission to power businesses through our Intelligent Finance Platform. We own credit, fraud, money movement, and payments, protecting our customers and our company. From product operations that ensure flawless launches to scalable systems that drive innovation and precision, we operate at the intersection of product, design, engineering, and customer success. Where you’ll work

This role will be based in our Salt Lake City office. We are a hybrid environment that combines the energy and connections of being in the office with the benefits and flexibility of working from home. We currently require a minimum of three coordinated days in the office per week—Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday. As a perk, we also have up to four weeks per year of fully remote work!

Responsibilities

  • Case Management:
    • Own and work associate level queues that are assigned to the Fraud Operations team
    • Develop and implement scalable operational processes for fraud management
    • Make risk-based, subjective decisions on high-value/risk transactions & account offboardings
    • Achieve company-level goals around financial fraud losses
  • Case Escalations & Incident Handling:
    • Respond to cross-functional partners on escalations related to fraud in a diligent way that balances risk and provides customer love
    • Participate in and help streamline fraud operational workflows around transaction review and account investigations
    • Take ownership of Fraud Incident handling and conduct root cause analysis to close inefficiency gaps
  • Project & Roadmap Ownership:
    • Own and ship projects on the Fraud Ops roadmap with full autonomy
    • Use AI tools to elevate and enhance queues and projects
    • Partner with Policy, Data Science, and Engineering to improve tooling to scale internal operations for fraud

Requirements

  • Previous management or team leader experience
  • Strong communication skills
  • An upbeat attitude, the ability to be calm under pressure, and the desire to seek out what’s broken and fix it
  • A creative curiosity, collaborative ethic, hardworking enthusiasm, and driving personal vision
  • Excellent interpersonal, analytical, and problem-solving skills with a penchant for multi-tasking and self-starting
  • Ability to collaborate and work with a team on projects and process improvements

Bonus points: SQL knowledge

Pay

The expected salary range for this role is $76,800–$96,000 USD. The starting base pay will depend on factors including the candidate’s location, skills, experience, market demands, and internal pay parity. Depending on the position offered, equity and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package.
