Garden Center Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Maintain a regular watering schedule
• Be knowledgeable or willing to learn about various plants, soils, & fertilizers
• Customer Service: Greeting customers, responding to questions, improving engagement with merchandise and providing outstanding customer service.
• Operating cash registers, managing financial transactions, and follow all cash register transaction procedures
• Directing customers to merchandise within the garden center
• Maintaining an orderly appearance throughout the garden center
• Introducing promotions and opportunities to customers.
• Cross-selling products to increase purchase amounts.
• Assist in pricing, stocking, marking and bagging of merchandise.

Garden Center Appearance and Upkeep

• Keep the garden center, checkout areas, and entrances neat and clean at all times.
• Absorb products stocked and faced, rotate fresh merchandise
• Perform all other duties as assigned.

This job is an hourly position (non-exempt from overtime).

Note: The starting wage is 12.00 per hour, however, depending on experience this could be higher.
