Summary

Starting wage is determined based on retail experience, which could be higher. Sales associates provide excellent customer service by listening to customers, helping them identify and clarify their needs, and offering accurate information and product recommendations.

Customer Service Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Smile and greet all customers entering the department or within a normal speaking radius.
• Direct customers to the appropriate products for their needs.
• Build customer confidence by providing product knowledge and technical assistance.
• Perform sales counter functions such as order entry, special orders, and price lookups.
• Accept and respond to telephone inquiries politely.
• Maintain a clean and organized sales counter and selling area.
• Avoid negative perceptions of CNRG by keeping the store clean and organized.
• Assist with customer loading of items purchased.
• Use the CNRG Resource Center to report issues with pricing, scanning, or product descriptions.

Safety & Loss Prevention

• Possess working knowledge of company and store security measures.
• Be vigilant about observing and reporting suspicious activity to management.
• Follow company safety guidelines and basic safety practices.
• Participate in regular store safety meetings.

Qualifications

• Previous work experience in retail sales or general customer service.
• Strong math, reading, writing, and speaking skills.
• Problem-solving ability and good organizational skills.
• Basic knowledge of lumber, building materials, or general hardware merchandise.
• Ability to lift and load merchandise weighing up to 50 lbs., climb ladders, and maneuver safely.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
