About the role

The Center for Children & Families is seeking a family therapist to support the mental and behavioral health needs of Franklin Parish School students and staff through behavioral health evaluation, risk assessment, safety planning, skills teaching, crisis de-escalation, and appropriate referrals for treatment options for students and their families. The range of services include but are not limited to: assessing and treating individuals, families, and groups to achieve more adequate, satisfying, and productive family, school, and social environments; addressing a wide array of relational issues within the context of education and the family system; addressing individuals holistically and contextually; referring to appropriate agency for ongoing therapy for child and family; working in the community by offering in-home, in-community, or telehealth services to within the CPST program.

Responsibilities

• Client Care – School Duties: maintain on-site presence at Franklin Parish schools, maintain office hours consistent with school hours, be available via phone, complete threat assessments, respond to crises, stabilize and refer, complete paperwork, crisis stabilization and safety planning, maintain contact with client/family, maintain awareness of cultural/socioeconomic characteristics, maintain confidentiality, be available by phone to community partners and coworkers, support school personnel and counselors.
• Client Care – Community Clients (CPST): use flexible 36-40 hour schedule to accommodate family needs, provide one hour per week per client of intensive individual and family therapy using TF-CBT, maintain TF-CBT fidelity, maintain contact and face-to-face visits with entire caseload per program requirements, provide aftercare sessions as needed, provide crisis intervention services as needed, maintain cultural/socioeconomic awareness, maintain confidentiality, provide aftercare recommendations as needed.
• Administration and Paperwork: generate and maintain case notes, treatment plans, Medicaid documentation, document work using EHR and school system forms, complete paperwork by deadline.
• Advocacy and Community Partnerships: maintain communication with community agencies, assist with referral needs (deliver items, drop off brochures/cards with QR codes), attend community events when requested.
• Universal Responsibilities: demonstrate commitment to Core Values and mission, complete necessary training, attend weekly clinical supervision, engage in team staffing as requested, assist supervisor/team, complete weekly timecards, attend conferences/seminars/meetings as requested, participate in performance evaluations, other duties as assigned, fill out schedule on EHR weekly.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in counseling, marriage and family therapy, or equivalent degree; experience with families and children preferred.
• Must be working toward or have obtained professional license and be registered with the appropriate licensing board in the state of Louisiana.
• Willingness to provide hands-on, in-school concrete services.
• Willingness to provide hands-on, in-community or in-home counseling services to CPST clients.
• Must have respect for cultural differences and individual rights to self-determination.
• Ability to work well in a team setting.
• Ability to work cooperatively with different types of personalities and professionals.
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
• Willingness to have a servant’s heart and work closely with school staff so that they feel supported by actions.

Pay

$50,000 - $55,000 (Exempt Full-time)

Schedule

36-40 hour work schedule with flexibility to accommodate client needs, including evening and weekend hours as required for community/home-based services.
