Duties
- Perform instruction, administration, and coordination of various EMS, fire and rescue training and education programs at the Fire Rescue Academy.
- Provide and support of training programs for recruit programs.
- Aid with planning and execution of various research & development of training initiatives.
Qualifications
- Possession of a high school diploma or appropriate equivalent.
- Retired sworn police or fire department employee.
- Current MFSPQB, NBFSPQ, IFSAC, or DoD-IFSAC (Pro Qual) certification as a Fire Service Instructor I and II.
- Preferred: Current MICRB certification as an Emergency Services Instructor.
Conditions of Employment
- Variable work environment, including office, indoor, and outdoor settings.
- May be required to work some flexible hours based on the needs of the various assignments.
- May be required to wear professional casual attire or required attire as identified by the department.
- May be required to work independently without close supervision.
- May be required to wear personal protective equipment.
- May be required to wear personal protective clothing.
- May be required to work in potentially hazardous conditions such as adverse weather and travel conditions.
- May be required to lift and carry equipment and objects.
- May be required to participate in fire prevention inspections activities.
Benefits
- Not eligible for Baltimore County Government benefits other than those required by the Maryland Healthy Working Families Act.

- Part-time employees must be scheduled for four (4) full work days plus two (2) hours each week to be eligible for benefits.
