FPGA Engineer - Level 2 - New Glenn
About the role
This role supports the development and operations of New Glenn, a single-configuration, heavy-lift orbital launch vehicle capable of routinely carrying people and payloads to low-Earth orbit, geostationary transfer orbit, cislunar, and beyond. Its first stage is fully reusable, and the vehicle was designed from the beginning to be human-capable.
Responsibilities
- Generate FPGA requirements in coordination with systems engineering, hardware engineering, software engineering and subsystem owners.
- Design, write HDL code, verify and document complex low-level modules.
- Participate reviews of FPGA Design and Verification Artifacts.
- 10% travel to other Blue Origin locations for various meetings, or large-scale company events.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, electrical, or a related discipline.
- 2+ years of FPGA/ASIC design and verification work experience.
- Experience writing or using FPGA level requirements.
- Experience in writing RTL using Verilog, SystemVerilog, or VHDL (SystemVerilog desired).
- Experience with Clock Domain Crossing techniques and analysis.
- Experience with FPGA development tools such as Xilinx Vivado, and Microchip Libero.
- Experience with FPGA Timing Constraint definition, STA, and timing closure.
- Experience with QuestaSim or equivalent simulator.
- Experience testing and debugging failures in simulation to root cause problems.
- Experience using FPGA Design and Verification tools in a Linux environment.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and to communicate technical information clearly and concisely.
- Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships.
Desired
- 3+ years of FPGA/ASIC development experience.
- Experience with requirements management tools such as DOORS Next Generation.
- Experience with sophisticated verification techniques such as Universal Verification Methodology (UVM) and Constrained Random Verification.
- Experience with scripting languages.
- Experience with revision control systems, such as Git/SVN.
- Experience with common on-chip bus protocols such as AMBA (AXI, AHB, APB).

Pay
Base Pay Range For CO applicants is $98,208.00 - $137,491.20 WA applicants is $107,136.00 - $149,990.40 Other Site Ranges May Differ
Schedule
Commutes/Travel Requirements: 10% travel to other Blue Origin locations for various meetings, or large-scale company events.
