About the role

This role supports the development and operations of New Glenn, a single-configuration, heavy-lift orbital launch vehicle capable of routinely carrying people and payloads to low-Earth orbit, geostationary transfer orbit, cislunar, and beyond. Its first stage is fully reusable, and the vehicle was designed from the beginning to be human-capable.

Responsibilities

  • Generate FPGA requirements in coordination with systems engineering, hardware engineering, software engineering and subsystem owners.
  • Design, write HDL code, verify and document complex low-level modules.
  • Participate reviews of FPGA Design and Verification Artifacts.
  • 10% travel to other Blue Origin locations for various meetings, or large-scale company events.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, electrical, or a related discipline.
  • 2+ years of FPGA/ASIC design and verification work experience.
  • Experience writing or using FPGA level requirements.
  • Experience in writing RTL using Verilog, SystemVerilog, or VHDL (SystemVerilog desired).
  • Experience with Clock Domain Crossing techniques and analysis.
  • Experience with FPGA development tools such as Xilinx Vivado, and Microchip Libero.
  • Experience with FPGA Timing Constraint definition, STA, and timing closure.
  • Experience with QuestaSim or equivalent simulator.
  • Experience testing and debugging failures in simulation to root cause problems.
  • Experience using FPGA Design and Verification tools in a Linux environment.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and to communicate technical information clearly and concisely.
  • Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships.

Desired

  • 3+ years of FPGA/ASIC development experience.
  • Experience with requirements management tools such as DOORS Next Generation.
  • Experience with sophisticated verification techniques such as Universal Verification Methodology (UVM) and Constrained Random Verification.
  • Experience with scripting languages.
  • Experience with revision control systems, such as Git/SVN.
  • Experience with common on-chip bus protocols such as AMBA (AXI, AHB, APB).

Pay

Base Pay Range For CO applicants is $98,208.00 - $137,491.20 WA applicants is $107,136.00 - $149,990.40 Other Site Ranges May Differ

Schedule

Commutes/Travel Requirements: 10% travel to other Blue Origin locations for various meetings, or large-scale company events.
