About the role
Financial Manager is a product that bridges the gap between Tempo's operational data and finance-grade outputs required by controllers, FP&A leaders, and auditors. It integrates with various systems like Jira, Capacity Planner, Timesheets, and ERP systems to provide comprehensive financial insights.
Responsibilities
- Drive strategy for Financial Manager’s budgeting, cost, and billing capabilities.
- Discovery with CFOs, FP&A leaders, Controllers, and finance business partners to understand budget authority flows and audit requirements.
- Manage capitalization and expense recognition workflows, including ASC 350-40 and IAS 38, and ensure audit-grade traceability.
- Create integration strategies with ERP and CPM systems, prioritizing batch uploads and existing API endpoints over bespoke direct integrations.
- Develop AI feature strategy for Financial Manager, focusing on genuine, verifiable financial pain points and managing AI-assisted financial outputs' quality, cost, and scalability.
- Collaborate with Tempo’s integrations team and finance-adjacent GSI partners to ensure seamless integration and support.
Requirements
We seek a creative systems thinker with deep domain knowledge in enterprise finance, FP&A, ERP implementation, financial systems consulting, or public accounting. Key skills include:
- Experience with software capitalization workflows (ASC 350-40 / IAS 38).
- Understanding of how organizations budget large programs, including cost centers, headcount planning, CapEx vs. OpEx treatment, and approval workflows.
- Knowledge of enterprise finance or ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Workday, NetSuite, Sage Intacct, Anaplan, Adaptive Planning, etc.) and integration at a conceptual level.
- Genuine AI proficiency, able to distinguish between AI that creates verifiable value and AI that just generates output.
- Ability to communicate complex financial concepts clearly to executive audiences and collaborate effectively within a cross-functional team.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate should have:
- 4-8 years of experience in enterprise finance, FP&A, ERP implementation, financial systems consulting, or public accounting.
- Hands-on experience with large program budgeting and financial governance pain points.
- Strong organizational fluency, including experience with Big Four firms and understanding of auditor requirements.
- Tooling familiarity with enterprise finance or ERP systems and integration strategies.
- Able to navigate complex financial workflows and communicate findings clearly to executives.
