About the role
Our client in the Lower Fairfield, CT area has an opening for an FP&A Manager on a consulting basis until the end of the year/January timeframe. The FP&A Manager role will require a finance specialist who can operate independently, deliver clear business insights, and build forward-looking plans that support leadership decisions. The ideal candidate brings strong analytical judgment, advanced Excel expertise, and the ability to improve FP&A processes through practical AI applications.
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain driver-based financial models that support forecasting, scenario planning, and long-range business planning.
- Prepare recurring management reports and executive-level dashboards that provide timely visibility into financial performance and key trends.
- Translate complex financial data into actionable recommendations for senior leadership and business stakeholders.
- Lead planning activities across budgeting, forecasting, and performance analysis while ensuring accuracy and consistency in outputs.
- Identify, evaluate, and promote high-value AI use cases within FP&A to strengthen analysis, reporting, and decision support.
- Organize priorities, timelines, and deliverables across the FP&A roadmap in a standalone role with a high level of ownership.
- Develop reporting tools and dashboard solutions that improve transparency and help leaders monitor operational and financial drivers.
- Partner cross-functionally to gather inputs, validate assumptions, and refine financial plans based on changing business needs.
- Support planning system enhancements and contribute expertise in financial reporting programs as needed.
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience in financial planning and analysis, corporate finance, or a related field.
- Advanced Excel skills with the ability to create sophisticated financial models and scenario-based analyses.
- Demonstrated experience with driver-based modeling, long-range planning, and forecasting methodologies.
- Strong background in management reporting, including daily and weekly reporting packages and executive dashboards.
- Proven ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and maintain an organized planning roadmap.
- Practical understanding of AI concepts with the ability to champion relevant applications within an FP&A environment.
- Excellent financial analysis, reporting, and communication skills for presenting insights to leadership.
