FP&A Analyst
for section headings: About the role, Responsibilities, Requirements, Qualifications, Skills, Benefits, Pay, Schedule. We need to include sections only when posting has real specific content.
We need to parse the job posting.
First, there is an introductory paragraph about Proterra (company description). That may be considered "About the role"? Actually "About the role" is a heading for role description. The posting includes "Position Overview" then "About The Role – You Will" with bullet points (though not bullet list but sentences). Then "Your Experience Includes" then "Additional Desired Skills" then "Key Attributes" then "Performance Indicators". Then later there is some company description again about battery tech, location, travel, work authorization, EEO, etc. Those are boilerplate to remove.
We need to extract substantive info: responsibilities, requirements/qualifications, skills, maybe benefits? There's mention of "competitive total rewards packages" but not specifics. That's vague; we should not create Benefits section unless specific benefits listed. The phrase "competitive total rewards packages" is vague, not specific; we should not create Benefits section because it's not specific content (like health insurance, 401k). So we skip Benefits.
Pay: not mentioned. Schedule: not mentioned (only "Minimal travel required" but not schedule). So we skip Pay and Schedule.
We need sections: About the role (maybe we can use "About the role" heading for the position overview and responsibilities). Responsibilities: we can list bullet points from "About The Role – You Will". Requirements: maybe "Your Experience Includes" (education, experience). Qualifications: maybe "Additional Desired Skills" and "Key Attributes"? But we need to decide.
We have to use headings exactly as given: About the role, Responsibilities, Requirements, Qualifications, Skills, Benefits, Pay, Schedule. We can choose which to include.
We need to preserve all substantive info, not invent or summarize away detail. So we need to include details from the posting.
We can structure:
About the role
Position Overview ...
But we also have responsibilities list. Could put responsibilities underResponsibilities
with- ... each duty. We need to extract each duty from the "About The Role – You Will" section. It is a paragraph with multiple sentences separated by line breaks? Let's extract: - Budgeting & Forecasting - Support the annual budget and rolling forecast processes, partnering with department leaders to gather inputs and challenge assumptions - Consolidate departmental budgets and forecasts into company-level financial plans - Develop revenue, expense, headcount, and capital expenditure forecasts - Maintain planning calendars and templates to ensure timely, accurate submissions - Update forecasts to reflect business changes, risks, and opportunities - Financial Modeling & Analysis - Build, maintain, and improve complex financial models with an emphasis on accuracy, scalability, and auditability - Perform scenario and sensitivity analyses to evaluate business outcomes - Support pricing, capital investment, and business case analyses for strategic initiatives - Analyze unit economics, cost drivers, and margin trends - Ensure models are well-documented and easy for stakeholders to use - Reporting & Variance Analysis - Support month-end close activities in partnership with Accounting, including P&L and accrual reviews - Prepare monthly and quarterly variance analyses (budget vs. actuals) and explain key drivers - Develop recurring management reporting packages and KPI dashboards for leadership - Track and report on financial and operational performance metrics - Ensure data integrity and consistency across financial reports - Business Partnership - Serve as a trusted finance partner to assigned business areas and department leaders - Translate financial concepts and results into clear insights for non-finance stakeholders - Provide ad hoc financial analysis to support operational and strategic decisions - Monitor spending against budget and identify cost-saving opportunities - Process Improvement & Support - Identify opportunities to automate and streamline reporting and planning processes - Document FP&A procedures and maintain process documentation - Support all members of the Finance team with ad hoc projects/analysis We need to put each as
- . Could group under subheadings? Not allowed; only
headings for sections. We could just list all responsibilities as flat list. Now Requirements: "Your Experience Includes" includes: - Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field - Minimum of 2-5 years of experience in FP&A, corporate finance, investment banking, or a related analytical role - Advanced Excel skills, including complex formulas (INDEX/MATCH, XLOOKUP, SUMIFS), pivot tables, and scenario/sensitivity analysis - Proven ability to build well-structured, auditable financial models - Solid understanding of the three financial statements and how they link together - Hands-on experience with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis - Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy - Excellent written and verbal communication skills We can put these as
- under Requirements.
Qualifications: maybe "Additional Desired Skills" and "Key Attributes" and "Performance Indicators"? But we need to decide what goes where. The headings list includes Qualifications and Skills separate. We could put "Additional Desired Skills" under Skills, and "Key Attributes" under Qualifications? Or we could combine.
But we need to preserve all substantive info. So we need to include both Additional Desired Skills and Key Attributes and Performance Indicators somewhere.
We could create:
Qualifications
- Experience in manufacturing, automotive, or electric vehicle industry
- Familiarity with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite)
