About the role
The Financial Planning & Analysis Analyst will partner with finance leadership on budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and long-range planning. The role involves creating dashboards, KPIs, and financial models to help leaders understand performance and make informed decisions. Additionally, the analyst will analyze budget-to-actual results, identify trends and variances, and recommend solutions.
Responsibilities
- Create dashboards, KPIs, and financial models that help leaders understand performance and make informed decisions.
- Analyze budget-to-actual results, identify trends and variances, and recommend solutions.
- Prepare executive financial reports and presentations that translate data into actionable insights.
- Develop cost models and indirect cost rate calculations for various business units.
- Support managers throughout the annual budget process by providing guidance, tools, and training.
- Maintain budget templates, reconcile budget updates, and manage budget information within the ERP system.
- Support month-end and year-end close activities, including journal entries and financial analysis.
- Help maintain strong financial controls and documentation to support audits and compliance.
- Aid in cash forecasting, treasury activities, and working capital planning.
- Assist with Form 990 schedules, financial reporting, and other special projects as needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- At least 6 years of progressive accounting or financial analysis experience.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP.
- Experience with budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and financial modeling.
- Experience working with payroll or HRIS data, such as Paycom or similar systems.
- Advanced Excel skills and the ability to turn complex data into clear, useful information.
Qualifications
- Naturally curious, analytical, and enjoys collaborating with people across the organization.
Skills
- Experience in a nonprofit, humanitarian, international, or grant-funded organization is a plus.
- Experience with NetSuite, or other ERP systems, is a plus.
- Experience building dashboards and executive-level reporting is a plus.
