Foundry Technician - Melting Pourer

What You'll Do

• Rebuild Pouring Ladles per procedures for next heat
• Set the stopper rod in the ladle and checks for fit
• Hold the transfer ladle steady with a long rod while the heat is being tapped from the furnace
• Collect a sample of metal from the ladle to be analyzed by the lab
• Roll the ladle over to pour the molten metal into the AOD vessel
• Pour molten metal from ladle to molds
• Maintain the condition of the transfer ladle by chipping the solidified slag
• Inspect ladle condition prior to and after use
• Ensure work area is clean and free of any hazards
• Input and maintain process and pouring records
• Participate in lean initiatives (6S, Visual Management, Kaizen)
• Participate in all Safety, Health and Environmental programs (WHZ, 6S, etc.)

Requirements

• High school diploma/GED
• Ability to work safely around hot metal, welding, and plasma cutting operations
• Good work ethic, good attendance record and a positive attitude
• Demonstrated commitment to workplace safety and adherence to safety policies and procedures
