About the role
This self-starting and motivated individual, as part of the Foundry Maintenance team, will be responsible for maintaining, testing and repairing electrical/electronic, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems and components. They will troubleshoot and repair equipment, plan and perform work requiring a thorough knowledge of electrical/electronic and mechanical theories and principles, and advise operators and line mechanics on operation procedures and requirements for working safely with equipment.
Responsibilities
- Troubleshoots and repairs mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical/electronic equipment including but not limited to programmable controls, numeral controls, power supplies, drives, gages and test equipment.
- Plans and performs work requiring a thorough knowledge of electrical/electronic and mechanical theories and principles, writing specifications, local and national electrical codes, properties of various materials, and principles of operation and application of electronic equipment.
- Installs, starts up and shuts down equipment in accordance with company safety procedures for machine activation and shutdown and in line with OSHA requirements.
- Advises operators and line mechanics of operation procedures and requirements for working safely with electrical/electronic and mechanical equipment and components.
- Informs appropriate management and maintenance mechanics of potential electrical/mechanical problems and inherent dangers involved.
- Maintains company-required performance and maintenance records for identified equipment.
- Performs preventive maintenance functions as directed.
- Affords assistance to maintenance personnel with technical troubleshooting and may train other members of the maintenance team.
- Assumes responsibility for other projects and duties as assigned by the Foundry Maintenance Supervisor or Company management.
- Travel Requirements: up to 10% for training as needed.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of proven experience in the electrical/electronics, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic fields are required and the ability to demonstrate high proficiency in these areas.
- Computer experience/operation and PLC programming are necessary.
- Experience and ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- A thorough knowledge of electrical/ electronic components and equipment including the use of special instruments for diagnostic purposes.
- Must be able to work respectfully and professionally with all levels of personnel whether individually or in a team environment and especially must be able to clearly interface and communicate with line operators in order to assist with repairs and troubleshooting.
- Willing to work overtime as required.
- A high degree of precision working with minimum tolerances required.
- Understanding of and adherence to applicable laws, codes, policies, regulations, and safety practices and procedures, as applicable.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with cutting, welding and fabrication preferred.
- Ability to cover other shifts preferred.
