Foundry - 8th Shift (Onsite)

About the role

This is an onsite position located in Clayville, NY. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract. The role operates on 8th Shift: Monday - Thursday, 10pm-8am.

Responsibilities

• Perform various cleaning, monitoring, and securing operations to assist in the set-up of a vacuum atomization furnace.
• Follow standard work instructions.
• Perform basic hoist and rigging operations.
• Operate powered industrial vehicles (PIVs).
• Assist in the removal and replacement of furnace lid and coils.
• Clean the interior of the furnace chamber and “O” ring seal.
• Assist in the attachment and detachment of gas, electric, and water lines to furnace lid and tank.
• Utilize an electric hoist to remove and replace the furnace lid from the furnace chamber.
• Under supervision of team lead, perform disassembly and reassembly of atomization chamber during alloy changes.
• Operate insertion and halo gas during atomization.
• Make minor repairs on the furnace and other auxiliary equipment under the supervision of team lead.
• Support the cell’s continuous improvement and all CORE and EH&S initiatives, including wearing required personal protective equipment.
• Refer difficulties to Supervisor or Team Leader.
• May be assigned to tasks not specifically listed within the scope and skill level of this job description in support of department objectives and to develop individual skills.
• On occasion, work hours outside of your typical shift.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent (e.g., G.E.D. in the U.S.).
• Strong attendance record.
• Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to work hours outside of the regular shift.
• Ability to wear a respirator.
• Mechanical aptitude preferred.
• Ability to perform physical tasks including ascending/descending stairs, standing for extended periods, bending, squatting, twisting, overhead reach, and lifting up to 25 pounds.

Pay

The salary range for this role is $21.00 per hour. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
