RemoteRemoteBusiness DevelopmentFull-time

Tracebit is helping some of the world's best security teams at Snyk, Docker, Riot Games, and many more to achieve an 'assume breach' strategy at scale. Tracebit detects intrusions in critical environments using canaries—decoy assets deployed to deceive attackers. We're at a massive inflection point, with strong product-market fit, explosive growth, and backing from top investors like Accel and FirstMark.

About the Role

As the Founding Sales Engineer, you’ll report directly to the Director of Customer Engineering and partner closely with sales, product, engineering, and customers to drive successful evaluations and outcomes. You’ll be a key part of our Customer Engineering team, building the technical foundation for scaling our customer base.

Responsibilities

  • Run discovery calls and product demos, tailoring your approach for audiences ranging from CISOs to security engineers.
  • Design and execute Proof-of-Values (PoVs), scoping evaluations to demonstrate clear alignment within prospect environments. Guide customers through setup, monitor progress, and ensure technical wins.
  • Build technical sales collateral, including demo scripts, technical one-pagers, architecture diagrams, and FAQs to empower account executives.
  • Provide technical guidance throughout the sales cycle, addressing questions about security, compliance, and integrations. Serve as the Tracebit subject-matter expert (SME).
  • Feed product insights back to the team, sharing customer feedback, feature requests, and competitive intelligence to shape our roadmap.
  • Represent Tracebit at cybersecurity conferences, running technical demos, answering questions, and building relationships with prospects.

Requirements

  • 3–5 years of customer-facing technical experience in B2B SaaS, ideally in cybersecurity or developer tooling.
  • Strong understanding of cloud infrastructure or DevOps concepts, with the ability to explain technical details clearly to both engineers and executives.
  • Ability to quickly learn new technical concepts and translate them into compelling value propositions.
  • Experience working collaboratively with go-to-market (GTM) teams, knowing when to lead technical discussions versus supporting account executives.
  • Comfort in startup environments, thriving in ambiguity, building processes from scratch, and adapting to shifting priorities.

Schedule

Core working hours are 9 AM–6 PM in Eastern or Central US time zones. As a founding team member, occasional work outside these hours may be needed, but flexibility is offered in return. Remote team members are expected to visit the New York office at least quarterly for in-person collaboration.
