Founding Program Director for Emergency Medicine (at HCA HealthONE Swedish)
About the role
CarePoint at HCA HealthONE Swedish seeks a Program Director to launch a new Emergency Medicine Residency in Denver, Colorado. This role combines leadership of the residency program with clinical practice at a busy suburban trauma center.
Responsibilities
- Build the Emergency Medicine residency program from the ground up, including its design, structure, and strategic direction
- Develop the curriculum
- Recruit faculty and residents
- Establish program infrastructure
- Oversight of all operational and administrative functions
- Lead ACGME accreditation efforts, including program application, site visit preparation, and ongoing compliance
- Integrate the Emergency Medicine residency program with physician practice and hospital clinical services
Requirements
- Minimum of three (3) years’ experience as physician faculty in an ACGME accredited Emergency Medicine residency program
- Current Certification by the American Board of Emergency Medicine
- Demonstrated clinical competency as a practicing emergency physician
- Demonstrated experience in a leadership role (APD, core faculty, residency committee chair, or site director) in the most recent three years
- Demonstrated scholarly activity consistent with ACGME requirements (e.g., publications, presentations, or quality improvement work)
Qualifications
- Schedule: 50% clinical time (including night and weekend shifts) and 50% protected GME administrative time
- Eligible for and able to obtain unrestricted medical licensure in Colorado prior to start
- Ongoing participation in ABEM Maintenance of Certification
Benefits
Incentive/Benefits Package:
- Compensation: Competitive annual compensation starting $350,000-$400,000 plus incentive compensation. W2 employee model.
