Founding ML Research Engineer

About the role

Some problems at Hussh are engineering. The hardest ones are research: how a personal agent reasons over a lifetime of private information, plans across tools, asks for consent at exactly the right moment, and proves it stayed inside the lines its owner drew.

Responsibilities

• Set the research agenda for Private Agent One with the founders
• Read research papers and build working prototypes rapidly
• Tackle hard problems in personal agent reasoning, planning across tools, consent mechanisms, and alignment

Requirements

• Rare research depth — the kind of mind that reads a paper in the morning and has a working prototype by Friday
• Publications or open-source work demonstrating real research taste
• Depth in LLMs, agents, reasoning, or alignment-adjacent systems
• Engineer's instinct to measure everything
