A stealth industrial hardware company is building microturbine generators for drones and humanoid robots using novel ceramic manufacturing processes. The goal is to make these systems 30–40% more efficient than today's small turbines while reducing production cost by roughly an order of magnitude. The company has closed a large seed round from Andreessen Horowitz (a16z) and is scaling a 4+ MW-class operation and 40,000-square-foot production facility. This is a hands-on founding role for an exceptional engineer who wants to help take an industrial operation from 1 → 100. What you'll work on Design, build, and test compact microturbine generators and their mechanical subsystems.Own hard problems across turbomachinery, rotating equipment, thermomechanical systems, and high-temperature materials.Develop ceramic components and manufacturing processes that improve efficiency and cost.Turn early hardware and processes into robust, repeatable production systems.Work directly with a small founding team on ambiguous, high-consequence engineering problems. Who we're looking for Deep experience in turbomachinery, rotating machinery, mechanical engineering, materials science, ceramics, or adjacent systems.A track record of getting difficult physical systems designed, built, tested, and iterated.Strong first-principles judgment paired with hands-on hardware execution.High agency and genuine interest in building an industrial company from the ground up.
