About the role
The role is for a full-stack TypeScript engineer to join the Outro team as engineer #2. The product surface is expanding from a high-touch clinical service towards an integrated experience for patients, clinicians, and operations. You will work directly with clinicians and operations staff to transform complex clinical workflows into reliable software.
Responsibilities
- Integrate Outro with insurance and data platforms to bill insurance broadly, scale care, and improve patient outcomes.
- Extend the custom tool used by clinicians to integrate external services like patient-provider messaging or develop AI tools to assist patient care.
- Develop patient-facing features such as launching new educational products or working on the React Native app.
- Support operations by continuing development on AI agents and collaborating with academic research partners on data collection.
- Own end-to-end feature development from design through deployment, monitoring, and iterating based on real user feedback.
Requirements
- A TypeScript-focused product engineer with experience shipping software, even in side projects.
- Comfortable working across the backend, frontend, and mobile stacks.
- Experience with data modeling and domain boundaries, especially in connecting data from various sources.
- Good at resolving ambiguity and proposing solutions to vague problems.
- Excited about a broad range of projects, including clinical workflows, patient education, insurance integrations, and research data.
- Experience with AI tools and a willingness to experiment with them.
- 3+ years of non-internship experience as a full-stack software engineer, though flexibility for the right candidate is considered.

Benefits
Compensation: $165,000 - $220,000 based on experience
Equity: Early-stage equity ranging from 0.25% to 0.75%
