Founding Full Stack Engineer (AI-Native)

Skiffra is building the intelligence layer for the physical world. We translate complex, real-world environments into clear, actionable data. While most AI companies focus on digital industries, we design AI native orchestration systems for the sectors that extract, move, and build ecosystems around us. We turn messy, high stakes operations into intelligent, adaptive workflows that improve decisions in real time. Our first proving ground is mining and natural resources, but the platform is modular by design and built to scale into any industry where decisions are expensive and the consequences are real.

What You'll Do

• Own the frontend and design layer of the product, from UX architecture to polished, customer-facing interfaces
• Build end-to-end product features, partnering closely with the team on backend and agentic integration
• Translate ambiguous, operationally messy customer problems into clean, usable product experiences
• Prototype quickly, test with live operational users, and iterate on UX based on real field feedback
• Establish frontend architecture, design systems, and engineering standards from scratch
• Collaborate closely with product, domain experts, and early customers
• Help define the visual and interaction design language for a technical, data-dense product
• Shape hiring and engineering culture as part of the founding team

We're Looking For

• Strong frontend engineering skills (React, TypeScript) with a track record of shipping polished, customer-facing web apps
• Genuine design sensibility: UX/UI judgment, not just implementation
• Web and mobile experience
• Proven ability to take a feature from concept to shipped product with minimal direction
• Working knowledge of Python and/or backend systems, enough to integrate with AI/data pipelines
• Comfort working alongside AI-native architectures (retrieval, agentic workflows, tool-use) even if not building them directly
• Strong debugging skills across the stack
• Clear communicator, bias toward action and simplicity, comfortable in ambiguity

Nice to Have

• Experience with Next.js, Node.js, or design systems/component libraries at scale
• Portfolio showing design range: dashboards, data visualization, complex workflow UIs
• Prior startup, founding engineer, or 0-to-1 experience
• Experience designing for industrial/operations-heavy users (mining, energy, logistics, manufacturing)
• Experience building interfaces for AI-augmented or agentic products

Location & Work Model

This is a hybrid role with regular in-person collaboration in Los Angeles or the San Francisco Bay Area. We are not a remote-only company. Work Authorization Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States. We are not able to offer visa sponsorship for this role.

Compensation Range

$180K - $220K
