Founding Engineer (External)

We are hiring actively for one of our early stage client partners in New York. What you'll doWork across the entire stack, shipping frontend features, real-time systems, and backend infrastructure.Create data pipelines and tools that let internal analysts add new sources and maintain sector coverage faster and more reliably.Improve our agentic parsing and extraction systems, making Hermes agents more capable and reliable.Own work end to end: inspecting data, QAing what you build, instrumenting it, shipping it, and fixing it in production.On day one: add a new information source to our environment.In week one: ship an improvement to the speed or reliability of our agentic systems.Within 30 days: build our company ontology and ship the first version of Earnings Center.What Team is looking forProven track record: you've built, shipped, and operated something real in production.Experience using agents to accomplish real work; excited about orchestrating coding agents in parallel.Strong judgment about when agents should reason versus when deterministic software should take over.Deep ownership mentality—you want responsibility for the whole result, not just your piece.Real depth in at least one of: backend engineering, data infrastructure, applied AI, or product engineering.Openness to work across unfamiliar infrastructure, scaling problems, and the full stack.
