Founding Engineer

About the role

Orpex is building the infrastructure for the next generation of service companies — agentic workforce, company brain, human trust layer, and a single cockpit to run the business. After raising an oversubscribed $2.7M angel round in just seven days, we’re moving at rapid speed and looking for a Founding Engineer to be our first hire. You’ll own the technical foundation, pick the stack, and set the standard for everyone who follows.

Responsibilities

• Ship from day one – production code in week one.
• Own the technical foundation end‑to‑end: spec, build, deploy, talk to users, iterate.
• Handle whatever needs doing: infrastructure, UI, customer calls, hiring the next engineer.

Requirements

• Applied LLMs: shipped production agent systems with orchestration, tool calling, long‑running tasks, and evaluations.
• Proven builder: track record of fast, production‑grade shipping across the full stack (TypeScript/Python, modern infrastructure).
• Product‑engineer mindset: you talk to users, define outcomes, and ship without being told what to build.
• Ownership and intensity: you force things into existence; bonus if you’ve founded something or joined a startup early.
• AI‑native: you write code with AI at a pace that would have looked unreasonable two years ago.
