Founders and Tech Executive Tax Senior Manager
Job Description
Withum’s Tax Services Group is comprised of tax specialists who ensure accurate and timely tax reporting and minimize or defer tax payments. They provide comprehensive tax strategies across various industries, including Business, Individual, State & Local tax, R&D Tax Credit, and International and Private Client services.
How You'll Spend Your Time
Leading the review of complex high-net-worth individual, fiduciary, gift and estate and other tax returns, ensuring accuracy and alignment with strategic planning
Conducting advanced tax research and drafting technical memoranda addressing complex issues
Designing and implementing tax planning strategies that optimize wealth preservation, charitable giving, and succession planning for founders and tech executives
Serving as a trusted advisor, managing client relationships through proactive communication, strategic consultations, and responsive service
Mentoring and supervising staff, fostering technical development, accountability, and a collaborative team culture
Collaborating with partners and senior leadership on client engagements, thought leadership, and business development initiatives
Ensuring compliance with evolving federal, state, and local tax regulations, staying ahead of legislative changes and industry trends
Contributing to process improvement, leveraging technology and best practices to enhance efficiency and accuracy
Engaging in firm-wide initiatives, including innovation projects, marketing efforts, and continuing education programs that support Withum’s dynamic and inclusive culture
The Kinds of People We Want to Talk to
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting from an accredited institution
CPA, JD, LLM or MST required
Minimum of 8+ years of professional services experience required
Industry knowledge within the Technology/Startup and Emerging Growth sector a plus
Demonstrated strategic leadership. Defining market opportunities, creating a strategic plan, process and deployment capabilities
Demonstrated process creation. Adept at developing and deploying best of breed business development and relationship management practices
Outstanding multitasking skills and organization
Strong verbal communication. Demonstrate clear verbal communication
Strong writing skills. Demonstrate clear written professional communication
Strong presentation skills. Must possess ability to organize and lead meetings with senior executives
Strong leadership skills. Demonstrate ability to set strategy and lead a team of professionals in a variety of capacities and different position responsibilities
Tangible and demonstrated experience in formal sales process deployment, use and training
Able to be a resource to other team members on the firm, the technology community, overall strategy and tactics
Able to adhere to an environment of accountability and responsibility – no excuses
Able to constructively monitor, formally (CRM) and informally (personal interaction) personal and client account performance
Creative problem solving & conflict resolution
Outstanding relationship management skills and personal networking skills are essential
Must be solution oriented
Pay
California ranges are from $135,000 - $230,000
New Jersey ranges are from $130,000 - $230,000
New York City range is from $150,000 - $225,000

About the Role
This Tax Senior Manager role will be based out of one of our Los Angeles, CA, Orange County, CA, San Francisco, CA, San Ramon, CA, San Diego, CA, New York, NY, or Whippany, NJ offices. You'll work alongside an integrated team of seasoned, well-known CPAs and industry leaders.
