About the role
The Foundation Laborer II is a skilled position required to operate and maintain various equipment, load and unload materials, and assist the Foreman and other skilled tradesmen while supporting the overall project.
Responsibilities
- Set up transits
- Move equipment down the ROW
- Rub and patch foundations
- Install chamfer edge and finish wet concrete
- Direct concrete trucks to pour location
- Operate backhoes and forklifts
- Haul tools and materials such as rebar cages, bolt cages, casing
- Drive concrete trucks, diggers, water trucks, cranes, and other equipment
- Capable of receiving and following directions
- Possess a basic knowledge of materials used in line work
- Understand when to wear personal protective equipment
- Able to work outside, frequently in inclement weather
- Perform all other related work as required to complete the job.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- A minimum of two years’ experience as a foundation laborer
- Must possess a valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL)
- Able to read and communicate effectively in English
- Able to work for extended periods in various locations, when required
- Able to lift in excess of 50 lbs
- Willing to work overtime when requested
- Willing to work outside of the normal work schedule including weekends, holidays, and overtime as required for the position

- Frequently required to talk or hear
- Frequent standing, walking, using hands to finger, handle, feel, operate objects, tools, and/or controls
- Frequent reaching with hands and arms
- Frequent performance of rigorous physical labor
- Sitting, climbing different types of structures (wood, steel, etc.), balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling
- Frequent lifting or moving up to or in-excess of 50 lbs
- Close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
- Frequent exposure to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, and vibration
- Occasional exposure to a variety of extreme conditions at construction job sites
- Frequent noise levels in the work environment and job sites can be loud
- Frequent exposure to outside weather conditions
