Foundation Counsel

About the role

You will be a key member of CZI’s growing Legal and Grants team, focused on supporting CZI’s affiliated private foundation, the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative Foundation (CZIF). You will collaborate with teams across CZI to help ensure CZIF’s activities and grantmaking are in compliance with applicable laws and regulations, and will advise internal partners accordingly. Your guidance will be critical to furthering CZIF’s strategic mission and operational goals, and you will be the point person for day-to-day management of CZIF’s legal issues. In addition, you will drive the development of systems, policies, and processes for a fast-growing organization.

Responsibilities

• Ensure CZIF’s activities and grantmaking comply with applicable laws and regulations.
• Advise internal partners on legal and compliance matters related to CZIF.
• Serve as the primary point person for day-to-day management of CZIF’s legal issues.
• Develop scalable systems, policies, and processes to support a fast-growing organization.
