Foster Care Team Lead
About the role
The position is responsible for providing mentoring and training new staff. It also involves supporting and consulting other Foster Care Specialists at the Grand Rapids site, including attending various meetings such as court, Family Team Meetings, case conferences, educational meetings, and others as deemed appropriate.
Responsibilities
- Mentor and train new staff
- Attend meetings with staff
- Carry a caseload of seven cases
- Attend court with staff
- Provide consultation/direction to staff when the supervisor is unavailable
- Attend supervisory training-CWTI
- Meet with supervisory team as requested
- Provide feedback to supervisory team regarding new staff performance
- Lead “Peer Supervision” meetings
- Be the Educational Point of Contact and attend Educational meetings with staff when necessary
Requirements
- A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in the Human Services field is required.
- A minimum of two years’ experience working in a child placing agency as a foster care case worker is required.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of community resources in multiple counties
- Knowledge of court expectations in multiple counties
- Knowledgeable of DHHS and WMPC policy/procedures
- Knowledgeable of CCWM policies/procedures
- Knowledge of DCWL rules and regulations
- Knowledge of COA standards

Team Leader
This position does not have management or supervisory responsibilities of direct reports, however they will provide Peer supervision/training/consultation when supervisor is unavailable.
