Foster Care Team Lead

About the role

This position provides mentoring and training for new staff, and offers support and consultation to other Foster Care Specialists at the Grand Rapids site. Duties include attending court, Family Team Meetings, case conferences, educational meetings, and other relevant gatherings. The Team Leader will maintain a caseload of seven cases.

Responsibilities

• Mentor and train new staff
• Attend meetings with staff, including court appearances and Family Team Meetings
• Carry a caseload of seven foster care cases
• Provide consultation and direction to staff when the supervisor is unavailable
• Attend supervisory training (CWTI) and meet with the supervisory team as requested
• Provide feedback to the supervisory team regarding new staff performance
• Lead “Peer Supervision” meetings
• Serve as the Educational Point of Contact and attend educational meetings with staff when necessary
• Travel as required to support site activities

Requirements

• Education: Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services
• Experience: Minimum two years as a foster care case worker in a child placing agency
• Certificates/Licenses/Registrations: CWTI foster care certification and MI-Team Training

Skills and Knowledge

• Knowledge of community resources across multiple counties
• Understanding of court expectations in multiple counties
• Familiarity with DHHS and WMPC policy and procedures
• Knowledge of CCWM policies and procedures
• Understanding of DCWL rules and regulations
• Knowledge of COA standards

Pay

Annual Salary Range: $49,000.00 – $56,359.13
