Job Responsibilities
- Aids in creating safe, secure, and structured foster home environments for children.
- Supports the developmental and childcare needs of children who cannot live at home.
- Maintains oversight of the service delivery to children and families in the program.
- Manages the referral process and matches children with appropriate foster homes.
- Ensures that all children have completed required comprehensive treatment and Discharge Plans.
- Facilitates the provision of independent living skills for eligible children in foster care.
- Guarantees that all children receive necessary medical and dental examinations and services are documented.
- Safeguards the provision of appropriate counseling for all children.
- Monitors the progress towards permanency planning goals for all children in foster care.
- Supervises and trains staff, conducts staff meetings, prepares and monitors schedules, and ensures that paperwork and documentation requirements are met.
- Develops resources for the program, representing it in the community, serving as a liaison with various agencies, and maintaining close contact with school representatives.
- Assists with budget preparation, ensuring fiscal accountability, and providing regular statistical and billing information.
- Monitors expenses and approves travel expense records.
Job Requirements
- Minimum of Bachelor's Degree required.
- Master's degree preferred.
- Minimum 2 years of experience working with at-risk youth and 1 year of supervisory and/or program management experience required.
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule including on-call rotations, nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Must carry a cell phone/pager for emergency coverage and crisis intervention and/or consultation.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
- Ability to work with an economically and culturally diverse population.
Skills
- Demonstrated decision-making, organizational, and communication skills including attention to detail, oral and written communication skills, and training skills.
- Computer literacy including but not limited to MS Office suite.
- Organizes work effectively, prioritizes tasks, and exercises independent judgment based on an understanding of internal and external organizational policies and practices.
- Demonstrated knowledge of relevant federal and state regulations pertaining to operation of programs offered.
