Foster Care Placement Specialist - Second Shift
About the role
Professional Services Group is a community-based social services organization seeking compassionate and dedicated Placement Specialists to join our Placement Referral Unit (PRU). The PRU works collaboratively with the Division of Milwaukee Child Protective Services to research placement settings for children who are open to child welfare and require out-of-home placement. You will receive information related to a child's family and conduct research to locate potential placements with relatives, as well as ensure timely and well-coordinated placements for children requiring higher levels of care.
Responsibilities
- Conduct family member/non-relative background searches
- Update and maintain client databases daily
- Work collaboratively with County and/or State programs and other agencies
- Document all case activities
- Complete client phone intakes
Location
West Allis, WI. This position offers flexibility for 50% hybrid/remote work once fully trained.
Schedule
Full-time, 40 hours per week. Monday–Friday, 12:00 PM–9:00 PM with a 1-hour unpaid lunch break. This position is also assigned to a rotating after-hours on-call schedule, including:
- After-hours coverage for a full week (Sunday through Saturday) during weeknights (11:00 PM–7:00 AM) and weekend days (24/7 coverage)
- Rotation occurs approximately once every six weeks

Pay
$20.27 per hour
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work or a related field is preferred
- One year of experience in Child Welfare is preferred
