About the role
The Ennis Center for Children is a professional organization founded in 1978 that helps numerous children in Michigan's child welfare system. This position focuses on providing case management, counseling, and placement planning for assigned caseloads.
Responsibilities
- Advocate for children and families with the goal of achieving permanency through reunification, adoption, guardianship, permanent placement with a fit and willing relative, or another planned permanent living arrangement.
- Maintain accurate, professional, and timely completion of all required reports, logs, notes, and other paperwork as per program-specific procedures, contract terms, and applicable local, state, and federal regulations.
- Coordinate or provide timely services and casework needs to assigned Agency consumers, families, and foster families, ensuring compliance with applicable local, state, and federal regulatory and accrediting agencies.
- Monitor and provide necessary services to Agency consumers, families, and foster families, coordinating treatment services with local, state, or federal agencies and community resources.
- Assist with Foster Care responsibilities across all agency offices as needed, including carrying caseloads outside the employee’s designated home office.
- Attend, conduct, or participate in case conferences, hearings, assessments, home visits, and other required meetings.
- Provide 24-hour crisis on-call availability to clients and families on a rotating basis.
- Provide case management of initial placements through the intake process.
- Maintain a flexible work schedule.
- Perform other Agency-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in social work or other related field as required by the State’s licensing guidelines.
- Experience in a child placing agency preferred.
- Excellent written and verbal communication/presentation skills.
- Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Reliable transportation.
- Satisfactory completion of all employment eligibility and Agency hiring requirements.
