About the role
The Ennis Center for Children is a professional organization founded in 1978 that helps numerous children in Michigan's child welfare system achieve lasting permanence. This is a salaried/exempt position that involves case management, instructive counseling, and placement planning.
Responsibilities
- Advocate for children and families with the goal of achieving permanency (reunification, adoption, guardianship, permanent placement with a fit and willing relative, Another Planned Permanent Living Arrangement).
- Maintain cases in various counties within the Ennis Center service area.
- Accurately, professionally, and timely complete all required reports, logs, notes, and other paperwork as per Program-specific procedures, applicable contract terms, and/or applicable local, state, and federal regulatory and/or other accrediting agencies.
- Carefully coordinate or provide timely services and casework needs to all assigned Agency consumers, families, and foster families.
- Monitor and provide necessary services to Agency consumers, families, and foster families. Coordinate treatment services with appropriate local, state, or federal agencies and/or community resources.
- Assist with Foster Care responsibilities across all agency offices as needed, including carrying caseloads outside the employee’s designated home office.
- Attend, conduct, or participate in all case conferences, hearings, assessments, home visits, etc. as required.
- Provide 24-hour crisis on-call availability to clients and families on a rotating basis.
- Provide case management of initial placements through the intake process.
- Maintain a flexible work schedule.
- Perform other Agency-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in social work or other related field as required by the State’s licensing guidelines.
- Experience in a child placing agency preferred.
- Excellent written and verbal communication/presentation skills.
- Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Reliable transportation.
- Satisfactory completion of all employment eligibility and Agency hiring requirements.
