Foster Care Case Aide
Foster Care Case Aide position in Traverse City, covering Benzie, Wexford, and Grand Traverse counties.
About the role
As a Foster Care Case Aide, you'll work alongside foster care professionals to support children, parents, foster families, and caregivers throughout the foster care journey. You'll help facilitate parenting time visits, provide transportation to foster care youth, assist with family support services, and help create positive, safe experiences for children and the people who care about them.
Many people begin in this role with little or no child welfare experience. What matters most is your ability to connect with others, treat people with dignity and respect, and genuinely care about helping children and families succeed.
Responsibilities
- Help children and families stay connected by coordinating and supporting parenting time visits and other important family interactions.
- Create an environment where children feel safe, supported, and valued during family visits and activities.
- Encourage positive interactions and help families build on their strengths through coaching, support, and consistent encouragement.
- Transport children and families to appointments, visits, and other activities that are important to their case plans and goals.
- Observe, document, and communicate important information that helps the foster care team provide effective support and services.
- Work directly with children and families from diverse backgrounds, helping create positive experiences that contribute to long-term success.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Your own reliable transportation, valid driver's license, and proof of insurance.
- Experience working with children and families is helpful but not required.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- A positive, strength-based approach to working with children and families.

Pay
Hourly rate of $15.00.
Schedule
- Part-time, 20 hours per week.
- 5-8 hours per shift, with flexible scheduling needed for day and afternoon hours.
- Travel throughout Benzie, Wexford, and Grand Traverse Counties for visitations and transportation needs.
- No weekends or on-call requirements.
