Forward Deployed Engineer (Remote)

What We're Looking For

The role requires a strong background in software engineering, machine learning, quantitative systems, applied research, or forward-deployed technical work with significant ownership. A record of leading ambiguous, customer-facing technical initiatives is preferred, or clear evidence of readiness to take on such challenges. Deep expertise in Python, SQL, system design, and analytical application architecture is essential. Experience with applied AI, including real attention to evaluation, reliability, and production deployment, is critical. Strong quantitative reasoning across modeling, inference, optimization, simulation, statistics, or decision systems is required. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills are necessary, along with the ability to balance speed, rigor, and trust in high-stakes environments.

What You'll Do

• Own forward-deployed engagements from discovery through production adoption, with scope growing as independence grows
• Architect and build custom systems across AI, forecasting, optimization, simulation, and decision-support workflows
• Design application patterns that connect Maybern's platform to customer-specific logic, data, and operating processes
• Create the evaluation, control, and validation frameworks that make AI trustworthy when a client's business depends on the output
• Work directly with senior stakeholders at sophisticated private markets firms as a trusted technical advisor
• Transform messy, real-world data into production systems: extraction, agentic workflows, automation, and the QA and nuance that separate working systems from demos
• Identify when bespoke work should become reusable product capability or shared platform infrastructure
• Help define standards, technical direction, and operating practices for a function you're joining at the ground floor

• Familiarity with the Snowflake AI Data Platform as a strong starting point for architecting data, analytics, and AI workflows
• Experience designing custom applications in finance, capital markets, enterprise decision systems, or similarly complex domains
• Experience with optimization, probabilistic systems, simulation engines, or mathematical modeling platforms
• Experience with formal verification, theorem proving, formal methods, or machine-checkable logic
• Experience turning bespoke customer systems into reusable product or platform primitives
• Experience mentoring engineers and raising the bar on technical execution
• Private markets experience

Compensation Range

$180K - $270K
