RemoteRemoteEngineering$8.5/hrFull-time

Sunrise Robotics Corporation is an $8.5M seed-stage robotics company, backed by Plural, building intelligent robotic cells that see, decide, and act on factory floors. With a distributed team of 30 across Europe, they are automating the most challenging aspects of modern manufacturing for small and medium-sized enterprises.

About the role

As a Forward Deployed Engineer at Sunrise Robotics Corporation, you will bridge the gap between advanced robotics R&D and real-world factory production. Owning the end-to-end delivery cycle, you’ll deploy intelligent robotic systems at customer sites across Europe, troubleshooting in the field, and feeding operational insights back to engineering to enable rapid, repeatable scaling of autonomous automation.

Location: Remote, Europe

Why this role is remarkable

  • Real-World Impact: Move beyond simulations and labs to deploy intelligent robotic cells in live production environments, directly influencing manufacturing efficiency and reducing waste across Europe.
  • High-Growth Traction: Join a venture-backed startup with $8.5M in funding led by Plural, working alongside a world-class team of 30 during a critical phase of continental expansion.
  • Direct Influence: Work closely with the founders and leadership team to shape how Sunrise Robotics Corporation scales its delivery model and evolves its core product based on field data.

Responsibilities

  • System Deployment: Lead the full delivery cycle of robotic systems at customer manufacturing sites, ensuring solutions meet strict operational, safety, and reliability standards.
  • Operational Excellence: Identify and eliminate sources of non-recurring engineering by improving deployment workflows, system architecture, and simulation-to-reality pipelines.
  • Technical Partnership: Act as the primary technical interface for customers during integration, troubleshooting complex ROS 2 and AI-driven systems to maintain maximum uptime.

Requirements

  • Industrial Experience: Proven track record of deploying robotic or automated machinery in industrial environments, with hands-on experience handling the "last 20%" of production integration.
  • Technical Depth: Strong proficiency in ROS 2, Behavior Tree-based control, and applying deep learning models to physical hardware within real-world constraints.
  • Adaptability and Travel: Thrive in high-ambiguity startup environments and are comfortable with roughly 50% travel across Europe to ensure successful customer go-lives.
