About the role
Deloitte seeks Forward Deployed Engineers (FDE) who can help clients transform AI ambitions into impactful enterprise solutions. This role combines product, engineering, and client impact, requiring a practitioner skilled in rapid solution development and stakeholder engagement.
Responsibilities
- Embed with clients to understand business needs and develop high-value GenAI solutions.
- Partner with leaders and engineers to align priorities and deliver solutions.
- Lead client-focused working sessions to shape and deliver AI solutions.
- Build and deploy AI-enabled solutions using Databricks and related technologies.
- Contribute to reusable assets and contribute to MLOps/LLMOps practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science, Data Science, or Engineering.
- 3+ years of experience in software engineering, data engineering, data science, or analytics engineering.
- 1+ years of hands-on experience building and deploying GenAI/LLM-powered solutions.
- 1+ years of experience with Databricks, including hands-on experience with relevant technologies.
- 1+ years of experience leading project workstreams and translating business problems into AI solutions.
- Ability to travel up to 50% based on work needs and client locations.
Qualifications
- Experience with cloud environments and common platform services.
- Demonstrated ability to work directly with client technical teams and stakeholders.
- Experience with data engineering tools like Spark, Airflow/dbt, and MLflow.
- Knowledge of MLOps/LLMOps practices such as model monitoring and prompt management.
- Experience integrating LLM solutions with enterprise systems.
- Familiarity with security, privacy, and compliance considerations.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud.
- Data engineering experience with Spark, Airflow/dbt, streaming, data modeling, or ML/data science background.
- Feature engineering, experimentation, and model evaluation experience.
- Experience with APIs, microservices, or event-driven architectures.
- Experience operating within hybrid onshore/offshore teams.
- Familiarity with security, privacy, and compliance considerations.

The role offers competitive compensation and benefits, including participation in a discretionary annual incentive program based on individual and organizational performance.
Pay
The wage range for this role is $134,500 to $265,100, taking into account various factors including skill sets, experience, and organizational needs.
Schedule
Travel is expected to be approximately 50% of the time, based on the nature of the work and client locations.
