Job Description As the first Forward Deployed Engineer, you will bridge the gap between product and production. You’ll design agent behaviors, build evaluation harnesses for "Frank" (our AI worker), and deploy systems on-site at US factories. Working with messy real-world data, you will automate the complex manual processes currently holding back world-class manufacturers. What You Will Do Design and build agent behaviors and tool-use pipelines using TypeScript and LLM APIs to handle complex, real-world manufacturing inputs like dirty PDFs.Collaborate with Deployment Strategists to map customer quoting and purchasing workflows into technical configurations, ensuring reliable end-to-end execution.Build robust evaluation harnesses and guardrails to ensure AI reliability while identifying product gaps directly from the field to influence the core product roadmap. The ideal candidate 2+ years of professional software engineering experience with a strong command of TypeScript (React and NodeJS) and PostgreSQL database management.Proven experience in customer-facing technical roles such as FDE, Solutions Engineering, or Technical PM, ideally within industrial or ERP environments.Deep fluency with LLM APIs, prompting strategies, and evaluation frameworks for non-deterministic software, comfortable working onsite in NYC and traveling to customers.
