Forward Deployed Engineer

About the role

The Forward Deployed Engineer role involves embedding on enterprise customer programs to ensure their success. This includes configuring and integrating Hadrian's software and robotics platform, building new products tailored to specific customer needs, and driving the full lifecycle from discovery to production.

Responsibilities

• Work a program end-to-end, from initial conversations to deployment and iteration.
• Communicate across various stakeholder groups, including customer leadership, program managers, and operators and engineers.
• Partner with teams building Hadrian's software platform to architect integrations and data models that align with customer realities.
• Build net-new software solutions to address unique customer needs, ranging from standalone applications to integrations that extend to the platform.
• Ship quickly and iteratively, getting working solutions into users' hands early.
• Translate field learnings into platform direction, feeding requirements back to the development teams and guiding the transition of one-offs into the platform.

Requirements

• Strong builder with high ownership, comfortable navigating ambiguous environments and shipping without a clear specification.
• AI-native mindset, using AI to streamline processes and achieve rapid results.
• Comfortable with the entire tech stack, capable of designing and implementing backend systems and UI/UX components.
• Product-minded, focusing on solving real-world problems rather than just building features.
• Experience working directly with customers or end-users, translating vague needs into actionable solutions.
• Effective communication skills, able to engage with operators and senior stakeholders alike.
• Driven by the mission and the pace of the project, eager to deliver results quickly and efficiently.

Qualifications

• Founder or founding-engineer experience, or prior forward-deployed, solutions engineering, or technical consulting experience.
• Domain knowledge in aerospace, defense, or manufacturing, or experience in similar high-stakes industries.
• A visible body of work, demonstrated through a strong GitHub presence or a portfolio of shipped projects.
