Forward Deployed Data Science Team Leader

About the role

We're looking for an experienced leader for our Forward Deployed Data Science team. You will drive customer modeling and outcomes, and develop customer relationships. This is a high-ownership role for someone who wants to blend customer-facing relationships, presentation skills, and hard data science capability. We care about what you’ve done, not how long you’ve done it for. You will own your own calendar.

Responsibilities

• Lead our forward deployed data science team, including oversee customer model buildouts, manage project timelines, and own customer relationships.
• Help close customers by managing pilot delivery.
• Build & deploy models for site-selection, market planning, and tenant selection to put companies where they are supposed to be.
• Develop presentation material to communicate complex technical topics to executive audiences.

Requirements

• Delivered a data science model to executive stakeholders, deployed with measurable results.
• Successfully communicated a complicated technical project to CXO stakeholders (non-technical).
• Built a forecasting system (preferably in an environment with low/expensive counterfactuals).
• Experience working with geospatial data, including storage, querying, or visualization (e.g., PostGIS, GeoJSON, or similar).

Preferred Qualifications

• Deep expertise of business analytics, ensemble models, explainability, and statistics.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 2+ years of experience in consulting (MBB/Big-4/boutique preferred), or 3+ years of experience as an FDE.
• Deployed a forecasting system with a high degree of accuracy, measured across MAPE or cross-entropy (in quintile-based forecasting tasks).
• Built tools that integrate with LLM-based workflows / AI Agents.
