Responsibilities

  • Prepare chemical solutions and formulations following standardized procedures and experimental protocols.
  • Conduct synthesis and blending of raw materials to develop new or improved chemical products.
  • Operate laboratory equipment such as mixers, reactors, pH meters, and viscometers to support formulation and testing activities.
  • Perform stability, purity, and potency testing on formulations to ensure product performance and reliability.
  • Record detailed experimental data, observations, and test results in lab notebooks and digital systems with high accuracy.
  • Aid in scaling formulations from laboratory development to pilot and full production, supporting process transfer and optimization.
  • Troubleshoot formulation issues, identify root causes, and adjust component ratios or processing conditions as needed.
  • Ensure all formulations comply with safety, quality, and regulatory requirements, including cGMP and OSHA guidelines.
  • Collaborate closely with chemists, engineers, and quality control teams to support product development and continuous improvement.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe laboratory environment, including proper handling, storage, and disposal of hazardous materials.

Requirements

  • 1–3 years of experience in chemical formulation or synthesis.
  • Strong understanding of chemical interactions, solubility, and stability.
  • Ability to prepare and test chemical formulations using laboratory equipment such as mixers, reactors, pH meters, and viscometers.
  • Familiarity with analytical techniques such as HPLC and spectroscopy.
  • Knowledge of regulatory standards including GMP, GLP, and safe handling of Safety Data Sheets (SDS).
  • Excellent documentation skills with the ability to record detailed and accurate data in lab notebooks and digital systems.
  • Strong problem-solving skills to troubleshoot and resolve formulation and process issues.
  • Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively within cross-functional teams.

Essential Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a closely related scientific field.
  • Experience assisting with scale-up of formulations from laboratory to pilot or full production environments.
  • Comfort working with hazardous materials while following established safety protocols.
  • Strong communication skills to interact effectively with chemists, engineers, and quality control professionals.
