Formulation Chemist

24-month contract position located in Irvine, CA (100% onsite) with possible extension based on performance and business needs.

Responsibilities

• Execute formulation development projects in collaboration with staff scientists from the SkinMedica product development team
• Manufacture topical cosmetic/OTC skincare formulas
• Maintain laboratory notebooks and databases
• Manage raw material inventories and vendor relationships
• Conduct stability studies
• Perform analytical testing
• Support pilot/scale-up activities

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in topical cosmetic/OTC formulation development (required for level III; 2–5 years acceptable for level II)
• Working knowledge of topical cosmetic/OTC laboratory methods and familiarity with GLP/GMP
• Hands-on experience operating laboratory equipment used in topical cosmetic/OTC formula development
• Experience in pilot/scale-up activities (a plus)
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects
• Strong communication and documentation skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Team player with a positive mindset

Pay

$40.00 to $45.00 per hour

Schedule

Monday–Friday, standard business hours (8 hours per day)
