About the Role
As an Assistant R&D Formulation Scientist, you will provide formulation and technical support for new product innovations and launches within the Vitamins, Minerals, and Supplements (VMS) category. The role involves supporting key development projects and ensuring they are executed in compliance with dietary supplement standards. You will contribute to formulation development, feasibility assessments, analytical and validation activities, stability studies, industrial trials, and technical dossier preparation, ensuring all deliverables are completed on time and to the required quality standards.
In addition, you will support the day-to-day operation of shared laboratories through activities such as equipment maintenance, laboratory organization, and audit preparation.
Responsibilities
- Develop new products and technologies based on relevant consumer insights in support of brand initiatives.
- Support and advance multiple projects through the product development process.
- Work cross-functionally to achieve key milestones and objectives.
- Initiate and conduct experiments to validate product and process at bench top, pilot plant, and plant level.
- Conduct descriptive and comparative sensory panels to characterize product attributes and quantify differences. Analyze data and make recommendations based on statistical methods.
- Respond effectively and efficiently to changes in project priorities and needs.
- Ensure technical aspects of the assigned projects are carried out as per the agreed timings and standards, with any issues or risks clearly highlighted to line manager in a timely manner.
- Prepare relevant product specifications and internal documentation and ensure all are approved prior to full production start-up.
- Compile and circulate technical reports throughout the product development process.
- Ensure all individual work adheres to RB Global Quality Manuals and relevant legislative, regulatory, and health & safety requirements, including appropriate quality.
- Organize and complete product stability studies, evaluate new raw materials, assist in developing prototype formulations/products, support pilot scale-up, and attend industrial trial manufacturing.
- Contribute to team and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Develop and maintain strong working relationships with key stakeholders.
- Set objectives, conduct performance reviews, and advise on the development of team members to enable them to achieve their full potential.
Requirements
- Educated to Degree level (Food Science, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or other bachelor’s degree).
- Proficient with common software, including MS Office (desirable).
- Experience of working in a Healthcare or VMS environment (desirable).
- Experience with prioritization, problem-solving, and resource planning (desirable).
- Ability to both deliver independently and communicate in cross-functional project teams.
- Ability to display a degree of flexibility and adapt effectively to change.

Pay
US salary ranges: USD $62,000.00 - $92,000.00.
